Hitachi’s Deskstar series of hard drives provides a breadth of 3.5” desktop products that fulfill all of today’s demanding computing needs.

In January 2007, Hitachi GST established capacity leadership with the 1TB drive. The Deskstar 7K1000 also available in 750GB is in response to the ever increasing demands of consumers for higher capacity drives to store digital personal data. The Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 3.5-inch drive uses second-generation PMR technology to achieve this high capacity point and assure stability. With its 7200 RPM and serial ATA interface, this drive is for gaming and high performance PCs as well as external storage devices and PC upgrades.

In keeping up with the growing enterprise market opportunities, Hitachi is proud to announce the reclassification of the Deskstar 500GB SATA (7K500) as the Deskstar 500GB SATA which provides nearline/low duty cycle enterprise class reliability and performance.
