Dual Processor Server Board - AMD® Opteron™ 6100 series
Processing Power
The S8230 is designed for high torque computing with support for two 12-core Opteron 6100 series processors. The board features HT3 for fast communication between CPU cores. Each processor has its own 4-channel DDR3-1333 memory controller for very quick access to data. The board supports a total of 16 DDR3 DIMMs (8+8) for up to 128GB of memory.
Boatload of On-board Features
S8230 incorporates the AMD SR5690 (SR5670 on –LE version) chipset to support an impressive list of on-board features with ASPEED AST2050 graphics, SATA RAID, eight USB ports, rear COM port for IPMI, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, one of which can be used for iKVM. An optional LSI SAS2008 controller provides eight additional storage ports. The S8230 board (-LE version excluded) also features four PCI-E slots plus two legacy 32-bit PCI slots for greater expandability as an all-purpose server motherboard.

S8230 has been tested exhaustively with a wide variety of hardware and software. Moreover, this board was designed for virtual computing and has already passed VMware® certification, so you can depend upon S8230 to power multiple servers in virtual environments.
