Windows 11 builds on your existing investment in the Windows platform. You can use your current management tools, including Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Configuration Manager to deploy Windows 11 to eligible Windows 10 devices.

Customers upgrading from Windows 10 using Windows Update for Business can implement app compatibility safeguards as well as blocks for devices that do not meet the Windows 11 hardware requirements.

  • Refresh to new, modern devices with Windows 11 pre-installed. New Windows 11 devices will be available later this year and come with downgrade rights, so you can buy with confidence.
  • Buy a new device now. Most devices available for purchase can be upgraded to Windows 11. Look for devices that are eligible for this upgrade. Most Windows 10 PCs that meet minimum upgrade requirements should be clearly marked with “Free Upgrade to Windows 11[1] (when available; see below).” You can also contact your OEM partner for guidance.
  • Upgrade your existing Windows 10 PCs. New Windows 11 will be available through volume licensing at holiday 2021. Use your current management tools to check for device upgrade eligibility.
  • Downgrade rights. Any commercial device with New Windows 11 Pro can be downgraded to Windows 10 Pro at any time by re-imaging the device.
