Intel Core Ultra 200V

Intel Core Ultra 200V – Optimizing Power Efficiency and Performance in Mobile Computing

The Intel Core Ultra 200V, code named Lunar Lake, features a new microarchitecture that incorporates several technologies designed to maximize power efficiency and performance. Engineered with a new more powerful NPU, the Intel Core Ultra 200V delivers up to 48 TOPS which surpasses the requirement recommended by Microsoft for CoPilot+. When combined with the new Intel Xe2 GPU, the new CPU cores, and the updated NPU the total system TOPS is 120. Additionally, the overall system performance gain is up to 18%, the GPU performance is up to 50% better, there is a 2X improvement in Performance Per Watt, and the battery life is extended up to 20 hours.

Intel Core Ultra 200V

The Intel Core Ultra 200V takes a completely new approach to memory by integrating 16MB or 32MB of DDR5-8500 memory directly on to the processor package. This of course means that the memory capacity is fixed based on the design of the notebook ODM but the benefits result in a 40% reduction in PHY power, and provides 8.5GT/s per chip to help boost memory performance.

The Intel Core Ultra 200V utilizes the Intel NPU 4.0 which is a larger more powerful NPU then that used on Meteor Lake (Intel Core Ultra 100V) or Arrow Lake (Intel Core Ultra 200S/H/HX). The NPU 4.0 provides up to 48 TOPS by increasing the number of NPU processor engines, by doubling the memory bandwidth, and by giving the NPU access to the 8MB of shared side cache.

As with all Intel Core Ultra processors which are based on a 3D hybrid architecture (CPU+GPU+NPU), Lunar Lake leverages the Intel Xe2 (Battlemage) graphics processor to provide 1.5x more performance over the Intel Xe GPU which is found in the previous generation Meteor Lake. The Intel Xe2 brings 67 TOPS to the system platform.

The Intel Core Ultra 200V incorporates a unique cache subsystem that includes 8MB of side cache which is shared and addressable by both the P-Core processors and E-Core processors as well as the NPU. This new cache structure reduces latency which helps improve overall system power efficiency and performance.

ASI has decades of experience partnering with solution providers and has extensive manufacturing relationships with leading edge notebook suppliers such as ASUS and MSI who specialize in providing leading edge technologies as a method of differentiating their notebooks. Additionally, ASUS and MSI work closely with Intel to offer Intel vPro and Intel EVO notebooks that provide robust levels of security and remote management so resellers can bring additional value to their clients.
