Intel Xeon 6

Intel Xeon 6 (Granite Rapids and Sierra Forrest)

Today’s server environment is very diverse with a wide range of mission critical workloads that require more than just considering core count. Today’s server processors require technologies that will maximize performance across diverse use cases, reduce power consumption, optimize AI, improve density, and run workloads in a highly secure environment.

Intel-Xeon-6-Server-TAM

The Intel Xeon 6 processor family is designed to address both the high performing compute intensive server market that excels at a broad spectrum of workloads and the high core count server markets that need to optimize density and energy efficiency.

With that, Intel has introduced two families of Intel Xeon 6 which includes Intel Xeon 6 P-Core and Intel Xeon 6 E-Core. While these processors have two completely different microarchitectures they do share many similar technologies such as the inclusion of function specific accelerators as well as Intel SGX and Intel TDX for hardened security. Unlike their desktop counterparts where the P-Cores and E-Cores are integrated on the same processor die, the Intel Xeon 6 P-Core and E-Core processors are two different products that are either P-Core or E-Core only.
