The 12th Generation Intel Core Processor family is based on a completely new architecture which includes a brand new LGA1700 CPU socket. Both the mounting hole design on the board and the height of the CPU and socket combined have changed. The new mounting mechanism requires a different adapter from many vendors. Some vendors have already included the new bracket, while others are providing the bracket through an alternate added SKU
